PROJECT OVERVIEW
This project was designed to showcase a mockup of a virtual event that is related to the COVID-19 pandemic, combining design fundamentals and HTML/CSS principles. It includes a fully developed brand identity, complete with a curated website, merchandise designs, and a branding and style guide.
Techscape is a three-day conference that aims to bring together undergraduate college students and bring awareness to the dangers of social media and how it affects our social well-being during unprecedented times of social distancing. The concept is based on the idea that we must allow ourselves to escape from tech, and is inspired by the message of the Netflix Documentary film The Social Dilemma.
INSPIRATION
This project was an opportunity for me to discuss the dangerous effects of social media addiction. This topic has been interesting to me ever since I’ve had conversations with my sister and friends about how our generation is slowly normalizing the constant desire for a release of a lot of dopamine. And one way to get it instantly is the use of social media. Although I’ve had research as evidence, I also based my project off of observations on how my peers cope with stress, and more importantly how we avoid boredom as much as we can. Therefore, I was inspired by the concept of "Dopamine Detox”—the idea that every now and then we need to break our habit of being heavily fixated on social media.
